Beginners... Onwards

These classes are an ideal introduction to the dance floor. Great social atmosphere - an ideal way to spend a fun hour.

All classes are taught by professional instructors and are taught in a sequence of 5 week terms.

Step 1: Beginners' Ballroom & Latin American Dance Courses

These popular 5 week courses include the social dances - Waltz, Rhythm, Rock n Roll, Salsa, Rumba, Jive & Cha Cha Cha. An introduction to partnership dancing, they focus on the basic steps introducing groups of figures creating a solid foundation for your dancing. No previous experience or rhythm is required.

FREE Introductory Class:

Social Ballroom & Latin American – Thursday 26 January, 7 to 8pm

Enrol and pay on the night to receive a $5 Discount on Beginners Courses.   

5 week courses commence:

Social Ballroom – Wednesday 1 February, 8 to 9pm - and - Thursday 2 February, 7 to 8pm.  Come to either or both.

Latin American – Thursday 2 February, 6 to 7pm - Cha Cha, Salsa, Rumba & Jive

5 week term fees per course: $46 (Students $43)

Repeat Beginners Courses - In the following term, you may repeat the same course without paying any extra! You only pay more when you move to the next level. 

 

Step 2: Improvers Ballroom & Latin American Courses

You will continue to learn more adventurous steps in the dances you learnt in the Beginners' Courses. Technique will start to be introduced. There is the option to opt into the Medal Test programme from this level onwards.

5 week course commences:

Ballroom & Latin American – Monday 30 January, 8 to 9pm - Waltz, Cha Cha, Rhythm, Rumba & Quickstep

5 week term fees per course: $46 (Students $43)
Enrolment is essential. Course fee only, no casual rate.

 

Step 3: Intermediate Ballroom & Latin American - Stage 1

This is where the fun begins!
More groups and dances are introduced with more emphasis on technique.

Step 4: Intermediate Ballroom & Latin American - Stage 2

More challenges and even more fun as more groups, dances and further technique are introduced.

Step 5: Advanced & Medal Classes

These classes specialize in Ballroom, Latin American or New Vogue.

Suitable for Medalists and the more serious dancers wishing to develop their dancing to a high level. Emphasis is placed on improving your performance and the quality of your dancing, by the use of correct dancing technique thus improving the look and manner that you dance these steps.

Classes can only be joined at the beginning of the term. If you wish to join after commencement you will require private lessons to catch up to the class before joining in.

You are welcome to join in Beginners & Intermediate classes at no extra charge.

Terms – approx. 10 weeks.

Private Lessons

Whatever your reason, private lessons are ideal for -

Beginner dancer’s wanting to get a feel for dance before joining a group lesson

That special day – Wedding Dance and other occasions

Advanced and competition training

Private Lessons enhance the learning process, bringing confidence and enjoyment.

Private lessons - up to 4 people

$35 per 1/2 hour, $60 per hour.

Small groups of more than 4 - $8 per person per 1/2 hour.

NB 24 hours notice of cancellation or postponement of a private lesson is required or full fee will be charged.
